Star Clusters

Star clusters typically come in two varieties, open star clusters and globular star clusters, both of which can be explored using Wolfram|Alpha. Open star clusters are irregularly arranged and loose collections of stars that are relatively close together in space. Globular star clusters, as their name suggests, are arranged in globular or spherical arrangements. Open star clusters are typically found in the galactic disks of spiral galaxies and are typically relatively young. Globular star clusters are usually found with a more spherical distribution around the host galaxy and tend to contain some of the oldest stars in the galaxy.
